Jennifer Leach Sandford

Jennifer practices in the areas of trusts, estates, and tax planning. She also represents clients in their interactions with the tax authorities. She was an accredited mediator in Quebec and has a special interest in employing mediation as a means to avoid or to resolve estate disputes.

Jennifer grew up in Vancouver and received her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science and Economics from McGill University, and her Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia, where she won the Stikeman Elliot prize in Tax Law. She has been a regular contributor to STEP Inside, the Newsletter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (Canada). She recently relocated to Victoria from Montreal. There, she worked with a boutique law firm specializing in tax, trust and estate matters for over ten years. Prior to this, she worked for five years in Toronto with a national firm and later a boutique tax firm.

Jennifer takes an empathetic approach to all her client interactions, recognizing the discomfort that many have in dealing with two of life’s certainties: death and taxes.

Now that she has returned to the beautiful West Coast, she enjoys hiking the forests and exploring the Coast with her family.

If you wish to make an appointment, Jennifer works out of our downtown location.
